Occupational therapy (OT) for school-aged children can be significantly enhanced by utilizing the outdoors, as nature provides a unique and motivating environment for skill development. Outdoor settings offer a wealth of opportunities for children to practice and improve various skills, including gross motor skills, sensory processing, social skills, and problem-solving, while engaging in play and exploration.

Outdoor therapy challenges and enhances existing gross motor skills. Spending time outdoors helps teens with emotional regulation and increases self-esteem.
